Truck chip tuning, also known as ECU remapping, is the process of adjusting the engine ECU software to optimise its operating parameters. Parameters such as turbo pressure, injection timing and torque limits are adjusted so the engine runs more efficiently within its own safety margins.
Manufacturers create the same map for different markets, emission regulations, commercial versions, climates and even very poor fuel quality. To comply with all of them at once, they limit the ECU software below the engine's real potential. Remapping safely recovers part of that margin in a controlled way.
No. A tuning box is an external device that tricks the engine sensors with false signals. It is a generic, non-customised solution that can cause long-term problems. The chip tuning we carry out at Recuauto is done directly on the original ECU software, with adjustments specific to your engine, which guarantees safer and more durable results than a tuning box.
Yes, completely. Before any intervention, at Recuauto we always save a copy of the original ECU map. If at any point you need to return to the factory configuration, we do it without any issue.
Most diesel trucks with electronic engine management are compatible with chip tuning. We work with the leading brands of the European market: Volvo, Scania, MAN, Iveco, Renault Trucks, DAF, Mercedes and others. Check your model in our power calculator or call us to confirm. 🚛⚙️
