Truck ECU remapping (or chip tuning for trucks) modifies the engine ECU software to extract more performance. Manufacturers calibrate maps with large margins to cover different markets and regulations. Remapping delivers more torque, better load response and fuel savings of up to 15%. Recuauto also carries out bus and coach ECU remapping with the same professional process.
Verified real-fleet savings range between 8% and 15% depending on driving style and truck model. The saving occurs primarily because the engine gains torque at low and mid RPM, so the driver needs fewer hard accelerations, fewer gear changes, and the engine operates in a higher efficiency range. For fleets of 10 or more vehicles, the return on investment is typically recovered in under 6 months through fuel savings alone.
At Recuauto we work with the main industrial vehicle brands:

Yes. Bus and coach ECU remapping is one of our most requested services from passenger transport companies. The benefits are twofold: fuel savings of 8-12% (very significant for high-mileage fleets) and better engine response at starts and on hills, improving passenger comfort. We work with the main European bus brands.
Under European regulations, the manufacturer cannot void the full vehicle warranty for a remap. At Recuauto we always keep a copy of the original map for restoration if needed. For fleets still under manufacturer warranty, we recommend checking specific conditions of the dealer maintenance contract. The remap is 100% reversible.
1. Pre-diagnosis: full OBD scan to verify ECU and engine status.
2. Original map read: we save the factory backup.
3. Custom modification: we adjust engine parameters in-house using professional WinOLS software.
4. Map write: we install the new remap in the ECU.
5. Road test & verification: we confirm everything is working before handing the vehicle back. The full process for a truck takes 3 to 6 hours.
Our workshop is in Alcoletge (Lleida). Given fleet demand, we assess on-site visits for groups of vehicles. For large fleets we also plan staged interventions to minimise operational disruption. Clients from all over Spain and southern France. Contact us to discuss your fleet logistics.
